Qualifications

  • Be 21 years of age or 20 years of age with two years of law enforcement studies.
  • Be a High School graduate or GED
  • No Felony Convictions
  • Be a United States Citizen
  • Be of Good Moral Character
  • Possess Valid Driver’s License

Successful completion of the following is also required:

  • Mandatory Orientation
  • Written Examination
  • Background Examination
  • Oral Interview
  • Psychological Testing
  • Drug Screening
  • Medical Examination
  • Completion of State Training Board Requirements
  • Completion of BPD Filed Training Program
  • Establish area residency within 35 miles and 6 months from end of probation

The Village

The Village of Bradley was established in 1892. Bradley is a community located in Kankakee County.

Today, the Village is a vibrant community of nearly 17,000 residents which is supported by a sound commercial base, attractive housing and excellent public services.

The Department

The Bradley Police Department is Located in the heart of the Village of Bradley. Built as part of the Village Hall in 1976, it is full of our Department’s history and is growing as we focus on our future.

The Chief and Deputy Chief of Police oversee the Operations and Support Services Divisions of the Department which are both Commanded by a Lieutenant. The Operations Division is responsible for the day to day patrol functions utilizing the most current and innovative equipment, along with K9 and ERT Assignments. The Support Services Division consists of Investigations, Records, Evidence, Public Relations, and Training. In addition the department houses an indoor firearms range available to all sworn personnel.
