Mayor’s Memo COVID-19 Update
Hello everyone,
I would like to start by saying how proud I am to be a part of a community that has risen and continues to rise to the occasion of remaining calm through the COVID-19 outbreak. I want to continue to reassure you that our municipal leadership team and I are in constant communication with multiple organizations from the local health department, medical facilities, and the governor’s office. We are advocating for our citizens and businesses to ensure proper and timely information is disbursed accurately. We are also advocating for and communicating various relief programs from both the state and federal level. Please check our Village Facebook as well as this website for updates on various types of economic relief as well as updates on COVID-19.
On Friday, March 20, 2020, Governor Pritzker issued an executive order of “Shelter In Place” for the state of Illinois. This executive order and additional information on COVID-19 from the state can be viewed at: www2.illinois.gov or coronavirus.illinois.gov.
Rest assure, plans are in place for public works, refuse, finance, and public safety services to continue with slight variations. Village staff will be available during regular business hours to assist residents by phone, email or by appointment, as appropriate. Routine business can be conducted by phone and email, and, if necessary, you may request an in-person meeting with a Village staff member, which will require you to answer a questionnaire ahead of your meeting for information on questionnaire see this website. The Village strongly encourages residents and businesses to use online and phone to conduct business as much as possible.
