AUTHORITIES URGE CAUTION AS STORM REPAIR SCAMS TARGET TORNADO AFFECTED AREAS

Kankakee County and Village of Bradley officials are cautioning area residents to be skeptical when approached by unsolicited contractors requesting to repair damage caused by this evening’s storms.

“Unfortunately, there are some that take advantage of the vulnerable, which includes desperate homeowners dealing with crisis due to weather-related damage,” said Kankakee County Board Chairman Matt Alexander-Hildebrand. “We encourage anyone that feels a bit uneasy or concerned to contact the appropriate authorities to verify the validity of the contractor and to ensure they’re licensed to work in the area.”
